I want to start off by introducing myself, as a young person I had a negative childhood this started with the loss of grandparents at an important time in my life, my parents weren’t around. I felt alone, not wanted, I didn’t understand love, how to adapt to situations or how to manage my feelings.

I was overweight at school, got bullied and didn’t have any self-confidence. As soon as school was over I went home and played on my PlayStation and ate all night. There was no structure or routine in my day-to day life which led me to disengage from school.

At the age of 16 I felt lost and angry at the world. Due to the trauma in my life at an early age I made the wrong decisions due to the anger I held towards the people who was supposed to support me and help me understand the basics of life.

I decided NO! this is not what I want, my life is better than this. I changed my life completely, I focused, began exercising and eating healthier food. This allowed me to lose weight and become fit and healthy.

From the ages between 21-30 I worked with young people in different settings, from sports coaching in primary schools, community work, caring for children in mental health secure and secure settings, finally I cared for children in residential care with Esland for 4 years. I have loved every part of working with young children and miss it dearly.

From this I have gained an understanding that young people in care struggle with routines, healthy lifestyle and to vent and get frustration out, this is why I want to come into homes in Esland and work with both the staff and young people.

I’ve always been into fitness and maintaining good health. But my passion for coaching came when I learnt how rewarding it was to help other people achieve their goals.

My first experience of coaching was as a football coach for young adults with learning difficulties. This, along with helping friends and family with health and fitness, made me realise that instructing and teaching in the health and fitness industry is something I wanted to delve into.

I wanted to become a personal trainer, but I wanted to be different from the rest, so I decided achieving a degree in Exercise Science would help me know more about physiology and nutrition to achieve the best outcomes for future clients.

Once I graduated, I became a personal trainer and fitness instructor, while football coaching for children also.

Helping people edge towards greatness is something that is very rewarding for me, it is something that brings me joy and I want to carry on pursuing this.

More recently, in 2021 I competed as a body builder in the Men’s Physique Body Building PCA and won, this was a huge achievement in my life. During the summer of 2022 I went to America to work with young people aged 16 - 17 years old at Camp America to be a Children’s counsellor, Swim instructor and lifeguard
